History

In 2004 after I retired from the fire department I started my business under the name IDS Contracting LLC.  In 2008 we changed our business entiy to a corporation and  became IDS Remodeling Inc.  We have always been a small family owned business with our main focus on high quality workmanship and building solid relationships with clients.  Our only source of business is from referrals from previous clients which requires our perfermance to be exceptional.

Experience

I have had a life time of experience in the construction field.  I am retired from the fire service and during my career, I was involved in construction, carpentry, and cabinetry.  Over the years I was involved in remodeling several homes and building two new homes for my family.  As retirement drew near I found myself filling more of my time involved in this activity so it was only natural when I retired I decided to take up remodeling as a full time profession.  My son a trained Chef began working with me part time initially but he came on full time four years ago.

Specialty

We remodel all styles of homes; however, we especially enjoy restoring turn of the century homes.  During the 1970’s many owners attempted to modernize their craftsman style homes.  The result at the time may have been satisfactory, but today we are seeing a return to the classic style of that age.  These homes had a lasting and special beauty that was often destroyed because of “modernization.” 

Today the industry has caught up with the desire of home owners to bring back the style of the era.  Products and materials are now available that cater to this era making restoration easier and more authentic.
